APPG Against Financial Exploitation Annual General Meeting E-mail
5 pm, Tuesday 21 October in Room Q, Portcullis House

Lord Ahmed opened the Meeting by resigning, but of course he was immediately asked to re-fill the position by Elaine Williams, which was seconded by Alan Keen MP (Vice Chairman) and carried unanimously by all those present.     Likewise the remainder of the APPG Committee were re-elected.

The remaining formalities were dealt with and Lord Ahmed addressed the meeting drawing attention to in the present economic climate, stating that the APPG Against Financial Exploitation must move to centre stage, and SAFE as it’s Secretariat must go into overdrive to accommodate all the needs which will fall upon it.    He assured the meeting that he and Alan Keen would do everything possible to assist, but we must formulate the questions and highlight the most urgent areas to be addressed so that they can bring them before Parliament and the Treasury Minister.     

 

He then brought the meeting to ‘Any other business’:
