SAFE is a company limited by guarantee and has developed from the original SAFE, (Struggle Against Financial Exploitation), group which, over a decade ago carried out various demonstrations to draw attention to how both the banks and other governing institutions were seemingly condoning systemic fraud and deception upon unsuspecting individuals throughout the UK.

Having matured, SAFE is established as a responsible battle proven group, who have gained the respect and attention of Members of the House of Lords and Members of Parliament across the political spectrum, various Media and Press contacts as well as some high profile names.

We now have been accepted as a Parliamentary Working Group, to highlight the serious issues raised in the cases that have been lodged with the group, we also provide credible statistics to enable Members of Parliament to ask questions in the house, table Early Day Motions in an effort to bring forth answers from those responsible for the control and policing of banking, financial services and the judiciary.

The said ‘statistics’ form the core of dependable information drawn from tested cases, gathered from the scores of casualties known to SAFE and supplemented from sources such as Citizens Advice, Insolvency Practitioners, Bankruptcy, County and High Court Records, Institute of Directors, Federation of Small Businesses, Chambers of Commerce, The Media etc.

This statistical data will be provided to the MPs’ and also made available on the Internet, where we believe it will be and will become the benchmark for future data.

Following a mail shot letter that went from Alan Keen MP to every Member of Parliament with the Groups History and Aims attached a very successful Lobby meeting was held on 23rd June 2003 in the Grand Committee Room in the Palace of Westminster. Click here to read the letter.

Further endorsement of Safe’s integrity is proven by a request to submit a list of casualties to give evidence directly to the Treasury Select Committee with regards to short comings of the Financial Services Authority’s, (FSA).

SAFE will:

• Try to create awareness throughout the country of the illegal conduct going on daily having severe detrimental impact on people’s lives.
• Produce statistical proof of the good and bad institutions updated monthly on our web site and report in our monthly meeting’s to the Parliamentary Committee.
• Raise Questions in the House
• Table Early Day Motions
• Instigate Legal Action’s on behalf of the group’s members
• Research the Laws of the governing institutions and Endeavor to get them implemented.
• Create awareness in an effort to prevent bankruptcies and repossessions.
• Support individuals with cases.

The funding for the Objectives set out above will be made available via ‘CHAPS’ (CHArity to Prevent Suffering), a registered charity which is already in receipt of significant pledges of donations.

Details of CHAPS are enclosed herewith and SAFE asks’ that a donation be made with your the enclosed completed SAFE questionnaire towards SAFE’s running expenses as we are a not for profit Company.
