Hello friends
I got my Mortgage in 1998 and certainly was not informed by the Clerk at Barclays Bank of the terrible consequences of this Contract but given every encouragement of all the good things coming from it. My house was valued at 140,000 pounds and I received Ł35,000 which I invested my income was not enough to manage on. I was widowed nearly 20 years ago and was left with two girls to bring up. As my husband died at 59 he hadn't built up all his pension fully and I didn't have a pension and was 49 at this time.

Anyhow, I'm now retired and suffering from lumbar spondylitis and arthritis I wish to move as I cannot manage the big garden and this Thames Valley is not a good place to live with arthritic problems. My family all live in the north and I have managed to find a bungalow for 140,000 pounds there. My house is under offer at 250,000 pounds, 110,000 pounds more in 4 years. I have just informed Barclays Bank that I wish to sell and am waiting to hear. I thought it was best to get as much in place before getting their valuation in view of the 3 month time limit. Will this put me in trouble do you think? I haven't any money and I am applying for a 10,000 pounds mortgage to make up the extra and hope and pray that Barclays make an honest valuation in line with local Estate Agents' valuations.

Going into this SAM Mortgage was the silliest thing I have ever done in my life as you know. I should be in a great position at this time in my life by moving to a cheaper area.

Thank you for all you are doing and will help in any way that I can.
