Case 20 As a lot of people have done my parents borowed Ł18,500 on a valuation of Ł87,500 - their house is now worth in the region of Ł165,000 6 to 7 years later of which they will have to pay about Ł77,000 to the Bank of Scotland in order to sell. A slight twist is that they were told by the 'financial adviser' (aka person on big commission) - that it was transferrable when it wasn't. After some negotiation on their behalf I was quite pleased to get a payment of Ł6,500 in compensation - how I wished I'd pushed to have had it deemed a fraudulant product and cancelled !!! A registration form will be forwarded in the near future. |
