Encouragement Congratulations on your work in raising protests on the outrageous profits being made by Barclays & Bank of Scotland on their SAMS Mortgages. Although, like the borrowers, it ts unlikely that these Banks anticipated the huge increase in property prices in such a short time ater the loans had been made, their insistance in claiming huge profits from the public, from their own homes should be protested. If possible, some action taken to establish a much lower repayment figure, particuarly for those borrowers who find it neccessary to relocate their homes. For ourselves, at this moment we have no intention of moving, but I am appalled by the calculated return payment of Ł152,000 on my loan of Ł36,250 should this become neccessary! I have aproached the Sunday Times ‘Money' section to emphasize the need for action against the Banks, but have received no comment so far! |
