If you have been contacted by LOWELL PORTFOLIO I LTD please contact SAFE and your MP, because SAFE, as the Secretariat to the All Party Parliamentary Group Against Financial Exploitation intends to raise questions in Parliament with the Treasury Minister regarding practice and ethics of institutions (licensed by the Crown), selling on debts, especially when the lenders have claimed tax relief in their provision for bad debts, then years later sell on the dormant debt to a third party. The *accounts* of Lowell show a turn over last year of £10,897, 290 which indicates several thousands of people have been chased successfully. Anyone thinking of settling an account with Lowell who has other similar debts should remember that to pay only one of them makes it a ‘Preferential’ payment and could cause more problems, seek advice for an IVA, (Individual Voluntary Arrangement). A further written question is likely to go to the Information Minister because the transfer of the records of the borrower by the lender to a third party we believe to be in breach of the Data Protection/Information Acts.
